Ice, Ice, Chicago!

It's winter in Chicago and that means snow is plentiful. While we have had a relatively mild Midwest winter, this past week has been anything but!

Typically, I am not one to make unnecessary trips in the cold weather and often find myself hybernating for five months. However, I decided to break out of my routine and venture towards Lake Michigan. It was a cold morning and I only managed to fall waist deep in the snow once! Here are some snaps I took during my excursion...

The ice has a tremendous ability to look like art. The colors, breaks and textures created are breathtaking and memorizing.

And lastly, these ducks who forgot to migrate...

As you can imagine, once I returned home I immediately made a big cup of hot chocolate, cuddled up on the couch with Netflix and returned to my hibernating state!

How do you beat the winter blues?
