DIY: Coaster Set

I recently celebrated the birthday of one of my closest friends. As we get older, it becomes more difficult to find that perfect gift for friends and family. I try to balance whether my gift is something they will use, and is not just another thing that will create clutter.

That's where the idea of this DIY came from - practical, pretty and small. These DIY coasters are a breeze to assemble, and in my opinion are an elegant gift.

Supplies:

  • Even number set of tiles

  • Self stick felt pads

  • Ribbon

This project really is that simple. These coasters will quickly become your go-to gift for friends and family!

These tiles were picked up from a local florist in Chicago, A New Leaf. They have an amazing selection of greenery and the basement is filled with vintage ribbons, tiles and nik-nacks. The beautiful cameo pink ribbon, also from A New Leaf, is from a vintage spool. The felt pads were picked up from CVS. The next few photos illustrate how the project is done.

These purple glazed tiles make for an understated set of coasters that will fit in any home.
